These people were syriac orthodox christians , who converted to catholic church(called knanaya catholic), there are still people who follow the traditional orthodoxy in their community who are called knanaya jacobite.. Syriac rite is a traditional rite of syriac orthodox church of Anthioch, which is the place where christians are named by that name... So these are people who left their home church, but follow the rites which don't belong to them.

The way you describe taking the Eucharist is the way I do - not touching it. Some in our congregation take it on the tongue and some kneel in front of the priest. No compulsion any way we want to take it and that's the way it should be imo.
Feelings = New Age
Thankyou for sharing this beautiful video.. 🙏 Greetings from a malayalee Catholic residing in New Zealand.... Your videos are inspiring as always. 👌
The only thing we should be striving for in our spiritual life is God's righteousness to manifest in us, to become his righteousness in actuality rather than by some false notion of imputation by faith alone. And why? Because peace, God's peace, is impossible without attaining his righteousness in the core of our being. God will send you into the desert to purge you of the world, the false Eden, to bring this about. Everyone wants heaven, both good and bad, believer and unbeliever, catholic and protestant, and nobody bar none wants hell, but few want a heaven with God in it, and the irony is he created it, and it belongs to him. Because we are so deeply unrighteous, loving God is hard, near impossible, and utterly impossible without grace. If we don't see ourselves as criminals pleading for pardon with nothing to bring to the table that might justify a pardon, but rather see ourselves as ones asking to be restored to our righful place, then we don't really know what the Christian faith is all about. This is why the warning to repent is issued to all, and only those who believe the message, respond, and live in the obedience of faith, hope and charity will enter heaven. We come to God through fear, and NOT love, since if we loved him, he wouldn't have to issue a dire warning to repent. But once we respond, and he redeems us and straightens out our crookedness in the fires of trial, and are cleansed by his grace, we stay out of love. We must forfeit paradise in this life to attain it in the next.
This is one of THE most important messages about how to live out our faith. The Mass is not entertainment. The Mass is the Holy Sacrifice and our role there is to participate and join with the priest in praying the mass. I have asked people what they got out of a particular funeral. Of course they say "i wasn't there for me, I was there to support the family". Yes! Exactly! We are at the mass to join the priest in praying it , singing it, offering it to Our Lord! And in the sacrifice of the mass and receiving the Eucharist, we pray that we are blessed as God knows we need blessing since He knows us completely.
Robert, thank you for your gentle, charitable reflections.
Thank you Robert. Great podcast. This is the issue i have with a good few people in the faith. Our relationship with Christ fills the void. He gives us so much peace. Knowledge of Christ is much different from knowing him from within. Fears, anxieties, resentments, lack of humility etc is deterrent to know God on a personal level. This is the issue i have with people going to Medjugorje. You hear people say i go there 4 times a year. I get great peace there. I don't get that back home. Spiritual fix, quick fix. Why don't they have peace at home if they know Christ? It's an interior peace and contentment that fills your mind, body and soul with the truth. This is the danger when we become spiritual junkies and can be led by the wrong people. Go to Christ, look at your broken self, and leave Christ heal you. Amen.
💯 very true.
Did Kennedy mentioned blessed Elena Guerra and pope Leo 13 and his prayer for outpouring of the Holy Spirit from 1895.? Charismatic renewal started before protestants adopted it in XX. century. I unsubscribed from Kennedy's channel. He is accusing critical commentators of manifesting. I'm afraid he is falling into spirit of Pharisees. He's had bad experience and now he's deducing from that experience and vilifying people who had experiences he didn't. He is acting like fr.Mawdsley and boys from Avoiding Babylon. They are all attacking the same points: Charismatic movement, Medjugorje, mystics and apparitions that are not Fatima, Lourdes, Akita...
Some of his points of valid. Catholics need to be formed in the basic fundamentals of the spiritual life. I know Catholics who are constantly being prayed over, slain in the spirit, but who haven’t read the catechism or understand some of the basics of discernment.
Unfortunately the same syro Malabar Church is getting extinct in its birth place- Kerala. All members are leaving the country to different parts of the world and only members left in Kerala are bunch of old folks.
I don't think it's getting extinct. The Church in Kerala is still growing. Only a few Malayalees are settling down in foreign nations, most have families in Kerala and would return when they retire. Many of these immigrants, especially the gulf ones, also come back and start businesses in Kerala. If the Kerala government supports makes it easier to start businesses in Kerala and attract industries back to Kerala, like what the Tamil government did, the immigration crisis could be minimised and even turned into an advantage. But ofcourse, that's assuming our politicians are intelligent enough to understand that.
@@holyromanemperor420 kerala politicians only luv muslms. Clear discrimination is seen. Even Hindus are also facing the same problm. Malayali Christians are trying to get out of here. The muslm menace is that much goin out of hand in kerala
It is believed that St. Thomas came to India 52CE . Assyrian Nestorian Syrian influence Kananaya influence Then 1498 Vasgoada Gama came to India, Which helped in the beginning of catholic influence in India
Even before the Portuguese, the Catholic Church was already connected to the Nasrani Church through its relations with the Assyrian Church.
Thank you Robert, you hit the nail on the head 😮I needed to hear this again and again 🙏
There are actually 24 rites (not 22) in the Catholic Church
Feelings come and go and they’re also untrustworthy because it’s possible for demons to influence how we feel. It’s about the act of the will. That’s why if we have ‘sinful’ feelings it’s not considered a sin, only when we act out on those feelings can it become a sin. That’s why in the spiritual life there is so much emphasis on structure, routine and is discipline so important. We need that as believers because through discipline we’ll be better able to control our will and to not let our feelings overtake us when we are overwhelmed by unpleasant surprises or long-during trials in life. You can also consider it an act of faithfulness, if you only pray when you want to it becomes selfish. I would never say prayer is ‘dull’ and ‘boring’, because it’s one of the few moments in the day I can just sit down and do nothing without feeling bad and also I am either at peace, excited when inspired and happy when I am able to pray for others. If there really is nothing going on, then I still have the assurance that God is with me and perhaps trying to draw me closer to Himself. Prayer is an adventure! 🙏
You are 100% spot on. It breaks my heart that many in the church do not realize how lucky they are that they may receive the Eucharist communion. And that Jesus Christ give this to them with so much love. And what does he get? Nothing back in return not even a thank you. But let we proclaim the Faith and try to teach them when we talk to them about the present of Jesus in the sacrament and the Eucharist adoration. They will listen and we have to put that seed in them so Christ may touch their hearts to open.❤
The heaven rejoices seeing such faith ❤ Hail Mary , Mother of God , pray for us 🙏
Happy to hear your malayalam accent. Its near perfection. We are a biggest diaspora spreading all over the world. We have many friends in ireland..

Fr. Gobbi is up for Sainthood just a few weeks ago.
I agree. When we are in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, it doesn’t matter what we are feeling. He is present whether one feels His presence or not.
I believe, Racham relates to womb, not bowels, compassion... Makes more sense with Nicodemus exchange with Jesus.
I totally agree and never had ot on my heart to run to marion site's. I love Our Lady and i pray she knows that. I believe she does... If i want that personal relationship with Christ its all down to me and Him. The time we spend together. Especially in Adoration or receive the Most Holy Eucharist. Ive never been called to Medugorie or Fatima for example. God bless those that have! Ive no doubt if that draw ever comes nothing will stop me getting there. I enjoy mass as often as i can in the week. I enjoy Adoration... I enjoy bible study. Prayer. Grouping with men. Im trying to strike a realistic balance. Exciting times not without its hiccups on my part. Padre Pio would tell us yo dist the house weekly.
Jesus Jesus Jesus 🙏❤️
Greetings from Singapore 😄 I couldn't agree with you more, Robert. Yes, I too am wary of "following my heart" (aka feelings) in things spiritual. More often than not it is precisely during those 'dry' periods that we need to soldier on, by the grace of God of course. For it is only by God's grace that anything of lasting good can come from us. Too often I meet those who profess admiration for a certain priest because 'he preaches so well' (or is charismatic) or because of his personality. If so, then where is our Blessed Lord in all this? At every mass we have the (wholly undeserved) greatest miracle right in front of us, when the bread and wine becomes the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ. And then we get to receive Him fully at Holy Communion. What more could we ask for? "Help me Jesus to always place you Front and Centre in my life; above and before all things, all men and things of this world, so that nothing ever comes before You."
I think the word we are looking for is CULT I know the movement dose very good things When two or three gather in my name I am their among you But some are very commutation with the Holy Spirit Speaking in tongues talking bladder all I am saying be careful and watch out for I am Type i am need here there and every where but they a good spiritual adviser and I am talking a priest Rember their is a big difference between prayers and spells God Bless I was at a mass rosary great loved it but what happened after words I was angry and very uncomfortable about I just got up and left would you believe it or not you answered my question today God Bless
Excellent podcast. It takes effort and it takes more effort - to place our minds present at Mass to be 100% aware that we are in the presence of Jesus Christ, God Incarnate. Every Sunday I try to make myself filly present and make myself fully aware, that I am going to be in the actual presence of Jesus Chist. It takes effort but its worth the effort.
The first step in stopping Bergoglio is to recognize that he is NOT the popel
Yes Jesus One with the Father. Where He is present, the whole of heaven is present. All of the communion of Saint are there
Thank you Robert 🙏🏼 and above all thanks, honor and glory be to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost AMEN 🙏🏼
IMHO: Jesus isn't IN the Eucharist, the Eucharist IS Jesus.
